Black Friday: Wolfenstein 2 Down To Its Lowest Price Yet

Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus Review

One of the finest first-person shooters of the year continues to see its price drop with this offer from Amazon being the cheapest yet.

Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus, the follow-up to The New Order, is available now for £19.99/$24.99, barely over a month since it was released. This comes shortly after its price drop on the PlayStation Store for the Black Friday deals, except this is the physical edition and even cheaper.

Having picked up the game in the aforementioned PlayStation Store sale, I can easily say that it’s worth full-price, let alone less than half-price. I am only a few hours in and it’s already offering surprising depth and a difficulty that feels challenging while never totally unfair.

The reason for Wolfenstein 2’s sudden price drop is in keeping with Bethesda’s new releases this year, which have almost all significantly decreased in price shortly after launch. Being sandwiched between Super Mario Odyssey and AC Origins certainly didn’t help BJ and friends, but is price decrease a sign that it was a huge mistake, or are Bethesda just trying to get as many people as possible to play the game? There’s currently a free trial available for all platforms, so you can find out for yourself.

Per our review:

“Despite some occasional issues with abrupt tonal shifts and some frustrating elements of combat and difficulty, Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus continues New Order’s deft combination of smooth, exhilarating gunfights and a story and setting with surprising depth and character that effectively tackles some dark and heavy themes while ultimately remaining fun and hopeful.”
