If you’ve done all there is to do in Fallout 4 on PlayStation 4, you might start looking at some mods to “enrich” and expand the experience, owing to how popular they are on PC and Xbox One. You may have even heard that you can call on the spirit of Biggie to get you through a rough patch amongst many others, but here’s the thing.
There’s still no mod support for Fallout 4 on the PS4.
Not too long ago, we brought you an update which quickly became a non-update. Bethesda are still twiddling their thumbs waiting for Sony to give them the all-clear.
Speaking to Metro, the shining light of British journalism, marketing head Pete Hines was quick to mention the fact that it’s out of their hands:
“All I can say is that [the Fallout 4 PS4 mod program is] undergoing an evaluation process and as soon as it’s done, and we have more info, we’re gonna let everyone know.
“It’s definitely not that we’ve decided not to do it, we absolutely, positively want to get PS4 mods out as fast as humanly possible.”
Hines doesn’t directly point the finger at Sony, but it’s clear they’re the ones responsible for such a delay. Don’t forget that PC and Xbox One started having official mod support way back in May, so the lack of activity on the PS4 front is a little worrying. I haven’t ventured the wastelands of Boston in months, but having the ability to turn myself into a Deathclaw would probably bring me back around.
Just in case you have somehow managed to avoid Fallout 4 since it came out last year, we applauded it as one of the best games of 2015, so it’s definitely worth your time. The Season Pass is now complete with the release of the Nula World DLC, which isn’t perfect, but adds on plenty more game time.
