Holy crap lads, it's actually real.

For a while there, it just didn’t seem like it was ever going to happen, but Platinum have shocked the entire world by showing actual gameplay footage of Bayonetta 3 running on the Nintendo Switch. The game is set for a release in 2022, and you can check out the trailer for yourself below.

The gameplay trailer showcased what looks to be a much grander game in scope than before. There’s a lot more in the way of big monster fights than there perhaps has been in the series so far, and players look to be able to control some of Bayo’s demonic summons to kill bosses. We also got a brief glimpse at who appears to be the villain of this game, and he looks like he’s about to go out and kill Chaos. It also briefly looked like the trailer would be for Astral Chain 2, considering mascot Lappy appears in the trailer. Not going to lie, if Platinum want to make Astral Chain 2, that’d be swell.

Depending on your outlook though, this is either a great day or a terrible day for The Daily Status of Bayonetta 3 Twitter account, who has been chronicling how long it has been since we’ve received some news. Today, we finally got what we wanted.
