Rumours of who were developing Metroid Prime 4, the latest game in Nintendo’s critically acclaimed series, have been circling over the past couple of days, with Bandai Namco being the front-runners. Today, there’s finally confirmation, at least according the Eurogamer.

Eurogamer today are reporting that multiple sources have confirmed that Metroid Prime 4 will be in development at Bandai Namco Singapore, with the team working closely with Nintendo. The Singapore team also includes staff from LucasArts Singapore, who worked on projects such as the unfortunately cancelled Star Wars 1313. It still makes me sad that 1313 never saw the light of day, but it’s good to see the team get a chance on another high profile project.

Press-Start helped with these rumours earlier in the week, when they reported on the LinkedIn profile of a Bandai Namco Singapore employee included reference to an “Unannounced Game (First Person Shooter/Adventure Exclusive to Nintendo Switch)”, which points heavily towards the Metroid Prime 4 theory. The profile also mentions that the employee in question is working on Ridge Racer 8 and that it’ll be a Switch exclusive, which hasn’t been announced officially. If true, that’s a huge get for the portable console.

Neither Nintendo nor Bandai Namco have confirmed the partnership, but the evidence is mounting. It probably won’t be long before we’re reporting on something official. What do you think of the idea of Metroid Prime being developed by Bandai Namco Singapore? Let us know in the comments.
