Bandai Namco Announce Soulcalibur World Invitational Tournament

A tale of hype and cash prizes, eternally retold.

Soulcalibur VI

Bandai Namco US have announced that after a successful showing at EVO 2019 for Soulcalibur VI, they will be returning to Las Vegas this November for the Soulcalibur World Invitational Tournament, which will see some of the best and brightest players in the scene compete for a $25,000 cash prize.

The event will take place at the Hyper X Esports Arena in Las Vegas on November 2nd, where 7 of the best Soulcalibur VI players, who have all won previous tournaments, will be invited to compete for a chance to crown the inaugural Soulcalibur World Invitational Champion. If you’re thinking 7 players is a bit odd for a tournament, there will also be a last chance qualifying event, where 128 players will try to rise through pools to earn that coveted final space.

In a press release about the tournament, Soulcalibur VI producer Motohiro Okubo said: “The Soulcalibur franchise has been the premier weapons-based fighting game for two decades, building a fan-base which stretches generations and around the world. Now, in the age of esports, it’s an honor to finally deliver a tournament fully focused on Soulcalibur, where the eight best players from every corner of the globe come together to compete for prizes, honor, and the ultimate crown of being the best Soulcalibur VI player in the world.”
