Arrested Development Season 5 is Still Happening

Arrested Development season 5

A lot has been said about the return of Arrested Development since its return to our screens. Yes, season 4 was patchy and missed a lot more than it hit, but it was a genuine attempt at stitching together a complicated story with the same irreverent humour we all know and love.

People were split, leading to some average reviews and some disappointment from fans. They aren’t going to leave it there, though – despite conflicting schedules and delays, Arrested Development season 5 is absolutely still happening.

According to creator Mitch Hurwitz in an interview with Esquire:

“It’ll happen. It’ll definitely happen. Not before the election, but it’s definitely going to happen. I say that because the actors want to do it, the studio wants to do it, Netflix wants to do it, I want to do it. It’s just making it happen. There’s no-one resisting.”

He isn’t done with season four, either. Apparently he is working hard to recut it to air on television:

“There’s a recut, too, of the fourth season, just to make it airable on TV. They’re like the old Arrested Developments.

“We redid all the narration and reshot a few little things. Now we have 22 episodes, and they’re delightful to watch and they’re much less work than the Netflix series. My hope is we’ll find a place to air those.”

Here’s hoping they can all find the time to come together and make us laugh until we puke again.
