One of the most underrated games of last year, Aragami’s relatively small status hasn’t stopped it from exceeding the expectations of its developer, Lince Works.

Citing 100,000 copies sold on PC, which is no mean feat when considering the competition, Aragami is also believed to have delivered well on PS4, though the exact figures are still to be revealed – it’s also on Xbox One. Not bad going at all.

In a statement, Lince Works co-founder David Leon said:

“We’re still getting all the numbers in from PlayStation4 for February and March, but the game has been a massive success there as well. Thanks to this support, we’re now in an amazing space where we alone can decide on the future of our games and the studio itself. And we owe it all to our amazing fans.”

Aragami is still being updated, months after release. As well as offering free content over Christmas, a level editor was recently released, harking back to the days of Tenchu 2, a classic stealth action title that serves as a big inspiration for Aragami.

Here’s what we thought of the game in our review:

“For those who pine for the days when stealth games were just that, Aragami is the perfect example of what can be achieved with enough heart and desire. Don’t let this game fade away into the shadows.”

We also included Aragami on our countdown of the best games of 2016.
