Apex Legends Season 1 Battle Pass Out Tomorrow, Octane Revealed

About time.

Apex Legends Octane Battle Pass
Apex Legends

After plenty of waiting since its early February launch, the Apex Legends Battle Pass is out tomorrow as part of Season 1: Wild Frontier and brings with it a tonne of new items, but most importantly, a new Legend in the form of Octane.

Exactly like the Fortnite Battle Pass, the Apex Battle Pass costs 950 V-Bucks Apex Coins, which will set you back $10 or £7.99. That said, you can purchase the Battle Pass Bundle for 2800 Apex Coins or $28/£24, which includes the Battle Pass and an instant unlock for the first 25 levels.

As for what’s in the Battle Pass, you’ve got your usual mix of weapon skins, costumes and other cosmetics, but there seems to be a lot of guff. For every new weapon skin, there’s a badge or stat tracker that feels less important than other rewards. Mileage may vary on whether or not you’ll get your money’s worth out of this Battle Pass.

Regarding Octane, it looks like the leaks many of us were cynical about are actually accurate. The new Legend, who is as thin as a stick and will give Wraith a run for her money as the most irritating Legend to shoot, is able to call on his Launch Pad Ultimate to get out of sticky situations. He also looks a lot like something out of Borderlands.

The Battle Pass was actually slightly leaked ahead of time by Origin, which had presumably swapped things around a little too quickly.

We will be updating this post as we get more information.

Apex Legends is out now for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. You can find our Apex guides this way, or check out our Apex Legends review:

“Even the most jaded of battle royale fans will find their interest rejuvenated by Apex Legends thanks to Respawn’s attention to detail, superior gunplay, and fantastic innovations, though the loot boxes and progression system certainly need addressing.”
