Apex Legends Octane: What You Need To Know

A quick rundown on Octane's abilities and bio in Apex Legends.

Apex Legends Octane 1

He’s been rumoured for the longest time, but we finally have confirmation that Octane is the first post-launch Legend to come to Apex Legends, which will coincide with the launch of Season 1.

While the update is due to bring him into the Apex Games at 9AM PST, we already have a good idea of what he will be like thanks to an update on the PlayStation Blog as well as the previous leaks which have now been shown to be accurate.

Here’s everything we know about Octane in Apex Legends, we will update this post once more info is released and he’s in the game properly.

Apex Legends Octane Bio

Apex Legends Octane Battle Pass

Real Name: Octavio Silva
Age: TBC

“After blowing his legs off in a record-breaking gauntlet speed-run, Octavio “Octane” Silva is diving into the Apex Games with metal legs and even bigger ambitions. He’s searching for the ultimate adrenaline rush by using his death-defying moves to become an Apex Champion.”

Apex Legends Octane Abilities

Passive Ability – Stim Health Regeneration
Constantly gives Octane health, though we will need to see it in-game to figure out how effective it is.

Tactical Ability – Adrenaline Junkie
Trades health for speed. Might be vital to get out of the ring, though there’s a lot of risk/reward.

Ultimate Ability – Launch Pad
You may have seen these already: they allow players to leap up in the air to escape immediate danger. From what we can gather, not the best Ultimate.

Apex Legends Octane Verdict

It’s a little hard to know what to make of Octane without properly playing as him for a good stretch of time, but he is certainly interesting. His wiry, diminutive frame will suit the current meta down to the ground, that’s for sure.

It has to be said, though, that his Ultimate is not looking like being nearly as intriguing as when it was first leaked. The Launch Pad seems to have meager distance, but it will be very entertaining to use it indoors if nothing else. Can you imagine Launch Pads and Gas Traps in Bunker at once?

Check back to see what we think of Octane and all the info you need to know from tomorrow (March 18th).
