It doesn’t take a lot for your Marines in Aliens: Dark Descent to suddenly start having a very bad day. From wounding to stress to even death, your Marines can go through a lot while on their bug hunts, including the random chance of going into a coma if their HP falls to 0. While they cannot (obviously) do much in this state, they can be extracted, but if you need your Marine back in fighting shape, there is something you can do.
To wake up a Marine in a coma in Aliens: Dark Descent, players must first have a Medic on their team in the middle of a mission. Medics can be unlocked after levelling up a Rookie to level 3, though it’s always random from one of two choices which class you can level a Rookie up to.
With a Medic locked and loaded, you then need to purchase an upgrade. Go to Barracks and select your Medic, then go to the Upgrades section. Find Reanimator Kit here, a battlefield tool that allows you to wake up comatose Marines, and spend 30 materials to unlock it. The next time a teammate is knocked into a coma and you have a Medic on your team, you should have an option to reanimate them when selected and get them back in the fight.
Bear in mind that, for obvious reasons, you’re a bit out of luck if your Medic is put into a coma themselves. We’d also recommend that you don’t immediately try to awaken a comatose Marine in the middle of a fight, as you need every gun you can get and reanimating them takes precious seconds.
Aliens: Dark Descent is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X & S.
