AEW TV: October Start Date & Clash With SmackDown Live

Wednesday Night Dynamite has a few debut details.

As first reported on Wrestling News Observer, AEW’s weekly television programme – Wednesday Night Dynamite – has been given a potential debut date. TBS are looking to go head-to-head with Fox’s newest wrestling acquisition, SmackDown Live, as they debut on the same week in October. Currently, the suspected start date for AEW’s TV is October 2nd, with SmackDown’s Fox debut happening on the 4th.

Regardless of what actually happens, the first week of October should be a very interesting one for wrestling fans. Having AEW TV debut on the exact same week as the WWE’s new big league show is a fantastic power play by Tony Khan and the TV executives. This is well and truly going to turn into a new ratings war, and I can’t wait to see what it brings out of both parties.

Obviously this is still all subject to change, not only is the wrestling business ever-changing but the television business is just as mobile. We’ll see if these specific start dates will indeed be the official debuts of AEW and SmackDown Live a little closer to the time.
