A Plague Tale: Requiem – Perfect Throw Achievement/Trophy Guide

Crowning achievement.

A Plague Tale: Requiem

A Plague Tale: Requiem is the highly anticipated sequel to one of the most surprising adventures of 2019. Requiem continues the journey of Amicia and Hugo, as the former tries to find a solution to the growing curse inside the latter’s body. While Requiem might be a linear game that’s heavy on the story, that doesn’t mean there aren’t some collectibles and secrets to miss along the way. The Perfect Throw achievement/trophy is one such example.

Here’s everything you need to know to unlock the Perfect Throw achievement/trophy in A Plague Tale: Requiem.

The Perfect Throw achievement and trophy can be unlocked in Chapter 8 of A Plague Tale: Requiem, titled A Sea Of Promises. If you missed Perfect Throw during your initial playthrough, you’ll have to restart from the beginning of the chapter, as the second checkpoint takes place just a little bit after your opportunity to get this achievement. The achievement and trophy is also tied to a Souvenir in the Codex, called Flower Crown, so you’ll need to complete this if you want to find and unlock everything the game has to offer.

As for the achievement/trophy itself, Chapter 8 of A Plague Tale: Requiem sees you travelling to the island of La Cuna with some of your new allies. After completing the initial boating section by talking to Arnaud and then Sophia twice, you’ll be travelling through La Cuna’s market area during its Brighter Days festivities, following Arnaud up the hill. After asking around about Hugo’s dream in the first market square, you’ll head further up the hill into the town.

At the end of the second hill, you’ll come to a small clearing/plaza where a group of children are playing. Here, you’ll be able to take a set of stairs going down towards a much smaller market square, and it’s here where you can obtain the Perfect Throw achievement/trophy. At the back of the square is an islander beckoning you to try your chances in a game of skill. Essentially, you need to throw four pots through four flower crowns. Miss one, and you’ll have to restart from the last checkpoint.

Throwing the pots themselves isn’t too difficult, but you’ll need to be careful as it can be somewhat confusing trying to line up the arc of the throw with the centre of the flower crown. Sometimes, it’ll look like the targeting indicator is hitting the crown, when it’s actually hitting the wall behind it. There’s no time limit to your throws, so just be careful, aim slowly and you’ll nail all four throws. Once you’ve done so, you’ll receive the Flower Crown souvenir and unlock the Perfect Throw achievement/trophy.

A Plague Tale: Requiem is available on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X & S.
