A New Walking Dead Show Is Coming

Prepare for more zombies next Spring.

The Walking Dead season 7
The Walking Dead

A 37 second teaser for the newest addition to The Walking Dead franchise was recently released.

It’s about the first generation to have grown up only knowing the world as it is now in Robert Kirkman’s zombie universe. However, much of that world has been sheltered from them by walls meant to keep the harsh truth of what happened outside. The trailer asks “What if you grew up in a world of safety and decided to leave to discover the truth of who you are and what the world really is?” The statements were broken up and spoken by some of the ensemble cast, young faces that will be helping to introduce a never-before-seen world within The Walking Dead story.

The show stars up-and-comers Alexa Mansour (Unfriended: Dark Web), Annet Nahendru (The Americans), Aliyah Royale (The Red Line), Nicolas Cantu (The Amazing World of Gumball, voice), and Hal Cumpston (Bilched).

This will be the third TV adaptation of creator Robert Kirkman’s Eisner-award winning zombie comic. AMC’s first series, The Walking Dead, will be entering its tenth season on October 6th, while its follow-up prequel, Fear the Walking Dead, is premiering the second half of its fifth season on August 11th. It was renewed for a sixth season earlier this month at SDCC. There is also an aftershow, Talking Dead, which focuses on in-depth episode analysis featuring cast members and other celebrities. In the future, the franchise will be releasing a trilogy of movies set to star TWD’s original cast member, Andrew Lincoln. AMC will be releasing the films courtesy of Universal Pictures.

The untitled Walking Dead spin-off premieres sometime in Spring 2020.
