Mega Man 11 Coming Out On October 2nd

Mega Man 11

Capcom have announced that Mega Man 11 will be launching on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC on October 2nd. The first new game in the long running franchise from over 8 years, Mega Man 11 introduces a whole new art style that blends 3D models and hand drawn environments, whilst retaining the popular 2D platforming fans know and love.

Things will be a little bit different though, as Mega Man 11 will introduce the Double Gear system that’ll radically change the way you play Mega Man. The Speed Gear slows down time, allowing you to make some tough platforming sections or to figure attack patterns for those tricky bosses.

Meanwhile, the Power Gear buffs up the trademark Mega Buster, allowing it to fire two charged shots at once. The Power Gear can also be combined with any special weapons you pick up from defeated bosses, making it a devastating tool.

Obviously, you can’t just use these abilities forever, otherwise the game would have no challenge. Mega Man will begin to overheat if the abilities are used too much, and in this state, he won’t be able to use either Gear.

Mega Man 11 will be getting a physical and digital release on October 2nd, though the Switch arguably has the best deal of all. The special amiibo edition will include a new Mega Man amiibo, obviously, along with some stickers, an adhesive patch and a “Stage Select” microfibre cloth.
