It would seem that Dead By Daylight is earning itself an impressive collection of cinematic slaughterers, as famed dream dweller Freddy Krueger is coming to haunt the survivors today.
Freddy will join Halloween’s Michael Myers and Texas Chainsaw Massacre’s Leatherface as playable killers in the asymmetric multiplayer murder party. There are no details about how he actually plays in game yet, though it’s more than likely Krueger will use his trusty claw glove to slice and dice the survivors. Whether that is his basic attack or forms part of each killer’s unique ability is unclear right now.
Though the trailer, which you can see below, shows Freddy Krueger coming to Steam today, but there’s been no word of a console release. Typically, new killers arrive on PS4 and Xbox One a couple of weeks after the PC release, but let’s hope Behaviour Interactive surprise us with a quicker turnaround.
Freddy Krueger will be available as part of the Nightmare on Elm Street Chapter Pack. Previous chapter packs also include a new map and survivor on top of the killer, so perhaps we can also take our killing to Elm Street itself. These packs usually cost around £4.99 on Steam, so it’s reasonable to expect this DLC pack will be the same. The question now is, what killers will be added to Dead By Daylight in the future?
