Ant-Man is in trouble and nobody knows what kind of hitch the troubled production is going to snag itself on next.
Edgar Wright was the absolute perfect fit for adapting a comic book for the big screen as he has a proven track record of taking the indie and underappreciated making it massive. Look at what he did with the long dead (or undead) zombie sub-genre and with Scott Pilgrim vs the World.
However, after reportedly realising that he still has a little something called artistic integrity, he dropped out of Ant-Man‘s production and jumped a quickly sinking ship. Good on him, we say.
The signs were pointing even more accusingly at the film being a doomed one after reports circulated that Adam McKay (Anchorman) had signed on to direct but quickly dropped out when in fact, he had actually flat out said no. That has to hurt.
And yes, met w/Marvel. Kirby & Lee r my Lennon Mccartney so it was awesome. But have other projects I’m committed to. Not sure it can work.

So, in the spirit of 100% seriousness, here are our 4 predictions for who could be taking the reins before the film’s release next year.
1. James Franco
After making several weird and rubbish indie films, Sir Franco could emerge from his cocoon of peculiarity to direct one of the strangest superhero films in the Marvel canon.
It would be a fitting way yo go full circle after portraying the Green Goblin in the good Spider-Man series. Whatever distracts him from posting creepy Instagram photos for 5 minutes is fine by us.
2. Stan Lee
Always the bridesmaid, never the bride.
After popping up in pretty much every Marvel adaptation to the big screen, the time might have come for the Godfather of Superheroes to get behind the camera instead.
The film would be worth the admission price alone to hear every other word out of Paul Rudd’s mouth as ‘EXCELSIOR’ and other crazy old guy sayings.
3. Paul Rudd
If there’s anything that  ‘The Room‘ tells us, it’s that all first-time directors should also be the main character in their films.
Should Rudd make the step up by directing Ant-Man as well as starring as the man himself, expect plenty of frowning during all scenes at all times. Seriously, watch a Paul Rudd film and watch how descriptive he is with his brow. It’s absolutely beautiful.
Also, everyone will be looking like they’ve just gone over the point of needing a haircut or a quick trim.
4. Uwe Boll
Why not. The film is almost certainly doomed to be a flop anyway.
It only seems to be coming out so that Ant-Man will be less awkwardly positioned in the Avengers sequel so why not just dump it out and see what happens. Who better to trust with the task than the director of the seminal Alone in the Dark?
Hell, Boll could actually do a good job – perhaps if he has the right financial backing, the curse on his brain can be lifted which would pave the way for the Citizen Kane remake we all desperately want to see him attempt.
