Nobody could ever say that the original Xbox didn’t at least try to overthrow the PS2 with the amount of great games it had, plenty of which sadly went unappreciated. Many of them have flown under the radar over the years, but they still have their fans.
Phantom Dust, the 2004 strategy game developed by Microsoft Game Studios, is one such game. A blend of collecting cards and action, it had strong reviews on release, but went down as a sales failure. Luckily for us, it’s getting a new lease of life on Xbox One, according to Aaron Greenberg.
Excited to announce a fan favorite Phantom Dust will re-release exclusively tomorrow for free on @Xbox One & @Windows 10! pic.twitter.com/q8lmn4yeIh

For free? That’s wild. It’s been up for re-release for years and years, so for them to just drop it without asking for a cent is almost unbelievable.
I was a bit young for Phantom Dust when it originally came out, so I am excited to give it a try and see what all the (cult) fuss is about. Let me know if you’re happy to see it return, or if you’re like me and want to delve into it for the first time.
