Romance is supposed to arrive with fireworks, racing hearts and the sort of dramatic lighting manga artists keep conveniently nearby. Yuu Koito gets the confession but none of the expected feelings, which makes meeting the equally complicated Touko Nanami rather significant.
Also known as Yagate Kimi ni Naru, Bloom Into You develops their relationship without forcing either character into an easy definition of love. Unfortunately, the anime stopped just as its student council drama was approaching the actual stage.
When Is Bloom Into You: Season 2 Coming Out?
Bloom Into You: Season 2 has not been officially announced and therefore has no confirmed release date as of September 2026.
The first and most recent television season ended on 28 December 2018 after 13 episodes. No subsequent OVA, film or second television season continued the animated story. The official anime website and its news archive remain centred on the original production rather than a new season, so it’s not looking good.
The completed manga leaves enough material for a continuation, but source material and continued interest do not constitute a production announcement. Until Kadokawa, Troyca or another official party says otherwise, alleged release windows should be treated as speculation. But with it nearly being a decade since the last season, it might be time to bloom other interests.
What Could Bloom Into You: Season 2 Be About?
While nothing is confirmed, Season 2 could continue preparations for the student council play and explore how its rewritten ending affects Touko.
Yuu has begun questioning the identity Touko constructed around her late sister. Changing the play gives her a way to challenge that outlook indirectly, although putting several emotionally guarded teenagers on a stage is unlikely to make matters simpler.
The manga’s later material brings the play itself to its conclusion and pushes Yuu, Touko and Sayaka towards decisions that cannot remain politely unspoken forever. Touko must consider who she is when she stops imitating someone else, while Yuu’s supposed inability to experience romantic love becomes increasingly difficult for her to accept at face value.
That would allow a second season to resolve the central relationship rather than inventing a new conflict. Seven Seas’ descriptions of Volumes 5 and 6 confirm that the play and Yuu’s proposed changes remain central to the story beyond the anime.
Where Can You Watch Bloom Into You?
Bloom Into You currently has no verified subscription-streaming or digital-purchase option in either the UK or US.
The separate UK and US JustWatch listings both report that the series is unavailable at present. It was previously carried by HIDIVE, so older guides may still direct viewers there incorrectly. Availability checked in September 2026.
Physical editions may still be obtainable through retailers. Note that you can get a “Complete Collection,” which suggests that the anime’s run is done.
Can You Read The Manga While You Wait?
Yes. Seven Seas publishes Nio Nakatani’s complete manga in English across eight volumes, in print and through several digital retailers. The official English series page lists all eight, while Volume 8 is explicitly identified as the finale.
Volume 5 provides a practical continuation point, though it includes some material covered by the anime. Starting from Volume 1 remains preferable if you want every scene and adaptation difference.
Seven Seas also publishes the three-volume spin-off light-novel series, Regarding Saeki Sayaka, which expands Sayaka’s history and perspective. The manga, however, is where Yuu and Touko’s unfinished animated story reaches its proper conclusion.
