Being labelled the worst student at a magic academy is fairly discouraging. Beating one of its best students should at least make the next parents’ evening interesting. Chivalry of a Failed Knight follows Ikki Kurogane, an aspiring knight whose swordsmanship makes up for what he lacks in magical talent, and Stella Vermillion, a princess who quickly learns to take him seriously.
The anime aired for 12 episodes between October and December 2015, adapting Riku Misora’s light novels, illustrated by Won. Fans have been waiting for Chivalry of a Failed Knight: Season 2 ever since.

When Is Chivalry of a Failed Knight: Season 2 Coming Out?
Chivalry of a Failed Knight: Season 2 has no verified release date or production announcement. We would not hold your breath at this point, so many years after its original airing.
The anime’s official website does list a Japanese Blu-ray rerelease announced in September 2023. That gives fans another way to own the existing episodes, but it doesn’t announce any new ones. Unfortunately, a fresh box can still contain the same cliffhanger.
More than ten years have passed since the first season. That doesn’t prove a sequel has been cancelled, though it leaves little reason to trust release dates that appear without an announcement from the people making it.
What Could Chivalry of a Failed Knight: Season 2 Be About?
It it was following the books, Season 2 would have the Seven Stars Battle Festival to work towards, bringing stronger opponents and further tests of Ikki’s ambition to become a great knight. The tournament is a central goal in the novels, alongside his developing relationship with Stella.
That relationship is a good reason to want more episodes. Both characters have ambitions of their own, and wanting your partner to succeed gets complicated when you also intend to beat them.
Ikki would also have more opportunities to embarrass everyone who dismissed him. At some point, Hagun Academy might want to reconsider how it grades people.

Yes. J-Novel Club publishes Chivalry of a Failed Knight in English, with digital volumes available through its series page.
The original Japanese light novel series concluded with Volume 19 in December 2023, although the English release is still catching up.
Starting with Volume 1 lets you follow Ikki and Stella’s story from the beginning, including details the anime couldn’t fit into twelve episodes. His school career does, thankfully, progress faster on paper than
it does on television.
