Monster Musume: Everyday Life with Monster Girls follows Kimihito Kurusu as an interspecies exchange programme turns his home into increasingly crowded accommodation for monster girls.
The adaptation of Okayado’s manga aired for 12 episodes between July and September 2015, followed by two additional episodes released in 2016 and 2017. Since then, fans have been waiting for a proper second season.
But is Monster Musume: Season 2 actually happening? Here’s what we could verify.
When Is Monster Musume: Season 2 Coming Out?
Monster Musume: Season 2 has no verified release date or production announcement. We could not find an official confirmation of a second season, and it’s been over a decade since that first season.
Dates circulating without a traceable announcement from the anime’s production team, publisher or distributor should be treated as speculation.
That said, the long wait also doesn’t establish that a second season has been formally cancelled. However, without a renewal announcement, and with it being so long since that first season…it’s not looking good.
The two episodes released after the television series are additional original animation episodes, often called OVAs or OADs. They, sadly, do not constitute a second season.
What Could Monster Musume: Season 2 Be About?
There is no official Season 2 synopsis. If a sequel continues adapting Okayado’s manga, the natural expectation would be more of Kimihito’s increasingly complicated life with Miia and the other monster girls.
The existing premise leaves plenty of room for further romantic rivalries, new arrivals and problems caused by humans and mythical creatures trying to live together — a classic. Kimihito’s house could probably do with an extension before anything else.
That is a guess based on the manga series, rather than a confirmed description of future episodes.

There is, of course, no confirmed streaming platform for Season 2.

Yes. Monster Musume’s manga is published in English by Seven Seas Entertainment, with material extending beyond the television adaptation. The publisher’s listings include collected volumes such as Monster Musume Vol. 7.
Starting from the beginning is the simplest option if you want the original version of the story without worrying about differences in the adaptation. It also means your next visit to Kimihito’s overcrowded household doesn’t depend on a renewal announcement.
