NXT UK continues to expand its roster with the introduction of NXT GM William Regal’s son, Bailey Matthews. Matthews joins the likes of WXW’s Lucky Kid, Impact’s Gursinder Singh and Joshi legend, Meiko Satomura, who will be making her debut soon against NXT UK Women’s Champion, Kay Lee Ray.
Who is Bailey Matthews?
Formerly known as Joe Bailey and recently spotted as one of NJPW’s Young Lion crew, the son of ‘The Real Man’s Man’ has made a name for himself across the independent scene, while not relying on his Father’s namesake. Bailey has appeared sporadically for promotions like EVOLVE and PROGRESS Wrestling, leading to his overseas career to follow in his Dad’s footsteps in Japan.
Unfortunately, Bailey never quite made it to wrestle on mainstream TV, but his stint in NXT UK should hopefully start building his fanbase and be the foundations of a long and successful career.
When will Bailey Matthews debut?
NXT UK have yet to confirm when we will first see El Hijo Del Regal compete in an NXT UK ring, but considering how quickly it has taken some signees to make their first appearances, I’d suspect it would be within the next month or so.
NXT UK has a fantastic roster with a lot of depth, Bailey Matthews, Lucky Kid, Singh and Satomura should all make for great additions to the scene.
