Neill Blomkamp’s Alien Movie Looked So Much Better Than Prometheus

Concept art: the film equivalent of a painting of the world’s most beautiful woman. It gives you unrealistic expectations and leaves you in a jail cell when you attempt to lick it. Much like the early art for the Bioshock movie that never was, we’ve now been treated to a look at what could have happened with the Alien series if Ridley Scott had relinquished it from his deathgrip.

Neill Blomkamp, the director behind District 9 and the slightly less excellent Elysium, recently released some images on his Instagram account with the comment:

“Woulda rocked. Was a mental stroll into the world Ridley Scott created.”

With all these scenes seemingly taking place within the infamous Weyland-Yutani headquarters and featuring Ripley and a much-battered Hicks, Blomkamp has claimed that this art was nothing more than a bit of fun on his Twitter account. We say take these and run with it.
