Jamie Foxx’s Project Power is Netflix’s Next Big Summer Movie

With Jamie Foxx and Joseph Gordon-Levitt on the cast list, you know this film is a must-watch.

Netflix just released the official trailer for Project Power, which has a star-studded cast, with the likes of Jamie Foxx, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Machine Gun Kelly, Rodrigo Santoro, Amy Landecker and Allen Maldonado.

Project Power has been in the works for a while, and just when we started to think it might not be released, Netflix releases a slew of images from the film and the official trailer.

Project Power takes place in a world where a special drug empowers humans with random superhuman abilities for five minutes. A father (Jamie Foxx) must rescue his daughter (Dominique Fishback) from the drug’s villainous manufacturers while working alongside unexpected allies. One such ally is Gordon-Levitt’s character, a detective who gets involved in Foxx’s character’s quest. However, just because it involves superhuman powers, this doesn’t mean we are going to get anything along the likes of a Marvel superhero film.

While there have been disruptions in the cinematic world due to the coronavirus, Netflix is still churning out content consistently. Just last week Netflix released Charlize Theron’s The Old Guard, which made it the top of Netflix’s streaming list. With Project Power making its debut on the streaming platform on August 14, 2020, it is clear that Netflix shows no signs of stopping, and will try their best to keep us entertained through this lukewarm movie season.
