Microsoft and Seagate have announced that the long rumoured/leaked new models of the Seagate Expansion Cards for Xbox Series X | S are now available to pre-order. These new cards include a 512GB version along with a 2TB version, joining the already available 1TB version, but you’ll be forking over a lot of cash for the 2TB card.

 

What Are The Storage Expansion Cards?

The Xbox Series X | S Storage Expansion Cards are a storage solution that leverages the power of the console’s internal SSD. Unlike your typical HDD storage options, the Expansion Cards will allow you experience games just like you would if they were installed on the console’s internal SSD. Considering the Xbox Series S and Series X only comes with 512GB and 1TB internal storage native, the expansion cards are a costly yet effective solution to increase your storage capacity.

 

How Much Will The New Expansion Cards Cost?

Pre-orders have gone live today for the 512GB Expansion Card in America (via Walmart), which will launch around mid-November and will cost $139.99. By comparison, the 1TB card costs $220. As for the 2TB card, it’ll cost $399.99 and pre-orders will open in November for a launch in December.
