5 Potential WWE Superstars Behind The SmackDown Live Hacker

Is it Hax0r Jim Duggan?

For the past few months, SmackDown Live has been targeted by a mysterious hacker who recently revealed their intentions to speak the truth behind certain superstars’ actions. Judging by a few of his vignettes, he seems to be subliminally pointing the finger at some of the blue brand’s top tag teams, meaning we might be on the brink of seeing a new technologically-gifted tag team enter the fray, or perhaps they’ll be stirring the pot to create chaos amongst the roster.

WWE have done a pretty good job at keeping the identity of the hacker under wraps, although rumours are starting to circulate suggesting that it’s the combined efforts of Ali and Shorty G (Chad Gable). Of course, fans have done their best to figure out if the two popular mid-carders are behind the vignettes, but there’s still nothing concrete.

With this in mind, we’re going to have a go at whistle-blowing to WWE and unmasking the keyboard warriors that have been virtually terrorising superstars from afar. Could it be a familiar face? Or might it be a debuting talent from the ranks of NXT? We’ll find out soon enough.

Make sure you drop your own predictions on who the hacker(s) might be in the comments below.

1. Xavier Woods

The New Day’s trombone-tooting Xavier Woods has been sat on the injured reserved bench for the best part of a year. Fortunately for him, he’s had plenty to keep himself occupied with thanks to his popular YouTube channel and affiliations with gaming promotions. Woods has created quite the star for himself through his online presence and attracts a good demographic to WWE through his aforementioned ventures, meaning he should definitely be utilised a little more upon his return.

When thinking of superstars that are not only versed in technology but also tag team wrestling, Xavier Woods is quite possibly the best wrestler to fit the bill. Maybe this is the start of a shocking heel turn by, or on, The New Day. Woods could unearth some unseen truth regarding his two New Day partners, Kofi Kingston and Big E. Maybe he’s jealous of them for some reason and seeks the spotlight for himself.

This would be a heartbreaking turn of events to say the least, but who knows what WWE have in mind to start swaying ratings back in their favour.

2. Ember Moon

As with many comic-books and films, the mysterious presence that hides behind an altered voice sometimes ends up being the opposite gender to what everyone expects. Could the hacker be female? Absolutely they could. Thinking of female superstars that aren’t currently competing, Ember Moon is one of the few that’s looking for a big return.

Moon’s similar to Woods in the sense that she has her own online presence through her D&D hobby. Not that it’s a direct link to hacking necessarily, but that’s at least a little more reason for her to be able to manipulate a WWE broadcast and send out her creepy messages.

Either way, I’d love to see Ember back on our screens again as soon as possible. She’s insanely talented and has a lot of appeal to the new generation of wrestling fans. Moon should definitely find herself included in the title scene again once things return to normal and she’s able to be back to action.

3. Lars Sullivan

Maybe one of the least likely superstars to be subbed in as a mysterious hacker, but also someone that I can imagine Vince putting into the role just so he has a reason to get this beast on TV. Lars Sullivan came and went as part of his debut run on the main roster, sustaining an injury and has been kept away from the cameras ever since.

Many fans were surprised not to see Lars’ name included on the staff cuts, due to his controversial nature behind the scenes and total unreliability. Sullivan wasn’t really turning any heads upon his debut and fans weren’t really expecting him to win them over anytime soon. Nevertheless, Vince must be keeping him around for a reason, perhaps to be our hacker?

Lars doesn’t strike me as a person who could convincingly hack into WWE’s computers but he could certainly be someone that’s looking to tear apart friendships and cause some dismay. Maybe he’ll yet surprise us all with a decent main roster run.

4. Bo Dallas

Another superstar that perhaps wouldn’t have been a shocking addition to the list of released superstars, the former NXT Champion, Bo Dallas, has been kept away from competition for what feels like forever. It’s a shame that WWE haven’t really been able to come up with some sort of creative idea for Dallas, he’s an incredibly talented performer on the mic and in the ring, getting over with his infectious ‘Bolieve’ gimmick.

Maybe this could be a big turning point for Bo? Having him reveal himself as the manipulative hacker could finally give him some much-needed screen time to get himself in the good books of the fans again. Dallas could truly ham up the performance like only he can and justify his existence on the WWE roster.

Again, an unlikely candidate but a candidate nonetheless.

5. Robert Roode

Bobby Roode Hell In A Cell

There’s nothing dropped quicker in WWE than a tag team featuring Dolph Ziggler. Last we saw Robert Roode, he made up the second half of a fairly successful duo with ‘The Show-Off’ but when Ziggler sought bigger storylines involving Heavy Machinery’s Otis and Mandy Rose, Roode was dropped from TV.

Robert Roode made for one of the most hyped signings in NXT history, alongside the likes of Shinsuke Nakamura, Samoa Joe and Matt Riddle, but despite his minute success so far on the main roster, he hasn’t really reached his peak.

Roode could easily be the one behind the hacking, targeting tag teams, or more specifically Dolph Ziggler, to help give him a reason to put himself back in the ring. This could be a great opportunity to turn Roode babyface once again and try to milk the dead horse that is his theme song. Roode has more than enough potential to make it big in the big time, but is it too little too late?
