Who's gonna fall and pray to Karrion and Scarlett?

Karrion Kross and Scarlett made their hotly anticipated NXT debut this week in a pretty impressive fashion. Kross was instantly made into a superstar with one of the most striking entrances to match his demonic persona. He and Scarlett are set to take over NXT over the coming weeks, as he began his journey with the typical dominance of local talent and promise of wanton destruction going forward.

Kross has already brought the ire of ‘Blackheart’ Tommaso Ciampa, after attacking the former NXT Champion backstage a few weeks prior. Presumably, we’ll see Kross and Ciampa meet during Karrion’s first TakeOver appearance, whenever their next special event will be. But after that, who could be next to fall and pray to the undeniable monster that is Karrion Kross?

With Scarlett by his side, there’s no doubt that he’s going to become a big deal on the NXT roster. We run down 5 potential opponents for Kross after he’s done with Tommaso Ciampa.

1. Damien Priest

When thinking about who else from NXT holds a similar x-factor to Karrion Kross, you’ve got to consider Damien Priest. Recently coming off of a losing effort against North American champion, Keith Lee, Damien Priest could use something to help rebuild his presence and stock on the NXT roster. A match against the equally intimidating Karrion Kross would go a long way in establishing Damien Priest as one of NXT’s top mid-carders.

Kross and Priest would match up pretty well against one another, both towering above the ring with an impressive range of strikes and explosive moves, it would be a sight to behold if and when they do clash. Not only this, but both superstars have a flair for the dramatic, their entrances alone would likely make up some of the biggest highlights from whichever show they battle on.

If you’re looking to make either man look like an absolute beast, then this match is a must.

2. Dominik Dijakovic

Another force of nature in the form of Dominik Dijakovic would be a fantastic candidate to go one-on-one with NXT’s newest monster. Dijakovic recently tangled with the newly-heel Johnny Gargano in a pretty fun match, but it didn’t do much justice for the Croatian descendent. Dominik needs something big to help him get back off the ground and the first hoss-off with Karrion Kross would go a long way for his future with the company.

Dijakovic has put together an impressive resume so far, especially with his series of battles with Keith Lee and Damien Priest. If anyone’s going to bring out the best in Karrion Kross, then it would definitely be Dijakovic. It would certainly be a hard-hitting affair, one that would involve big dudes slapping meat and pulling off some insane spots that guys their size have no right doing.

3. Dexter Lumis

Karrion Kross and Dexter Lumis’ debuts almost ran parallel to run another, with Karrion being a little more mysterious backstage and Lumis heading straight into the ring to creep out audiences with his snake-like mannerisms and calm demeanour. It’s almost a natural conclusion for them to eventually meet one-on-one to establish which one of them is to be NXT’s golden goose.

Lumis seems to be heading straight to the main event scene, having entered into the NXT Championship fray between Velveteen Dream and The Undisputed Era. A strange placement for Lumis’ sinister gimmick, but surely a huge sign as to what NXT writers expect from him in the near future. Kross will surely be given the same treatment as time goes on, especially if he’s to come out on top of the rivalry with Tommaso Ciampa.

A big match between the two unique characters would be a treat for all.

4. Timothy Thatcher

Another recent debut for NXT and already sporting one half of the NXT Tag Team Championships alongside Matt Riddle, Timothy Thatcher is ready to break some bones and bruise some bodies in his first run in the big time. Once Thatcher is freed up from filling in for ‘The Bruiesrweight’ who is currently land-bound in the UK, he could easily transition into a singles run and have a crack at the biggest and baddest dudes on the roster.

Thatcher and Kross broke headlines when they signed together a few months back, Thatcher was of course the first of the two to receive some screen-time, being given the classic ‘crowd member’ spot on a TakeOver show and making his surprise first appearance as the Broserweights substitute. Thatcher has made a pretty big impression so far, but he has yet to truly show off his full range of skills.

His specialities seem to lie in matches against bigger guys, so a match with Karrion Kross is a must.

5. Finn Balor

NXT isn’t exactly a normal place, it’s seen its fair share of demons and monsters over the years and none were more prolific than ‘The Prince’ Finn Balor. Since Balor’s return to NXT, he has yet to unearth his ‘Demon King’ persona, which is surprising considering how popular that side of his remains. Balor’s Demon has yet to receive a loss to his name, which means whoever does give the King a run for his money will surely be a ready-made star.

Karrion Kross is almost the perfect guy to stand against Balor and his ‘Demon King’, with Scarlett by his side, there could be no greater power to bring Finn to his knees for his very first loss while wearing the war-paint. Finn is currently trying to figure out who attacked him backstage, now that could indeed be Karrion living up to his nature of assaulting fellow superstars, or it could be the mysterious agents of darkness of the parking lot. Either way it’s going to be fun seeing this play out, especially if it ends up being the former.
