Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman led all films with 14 nominations in the major categories at the 25th Broadcast Film Critics Awards. Irishman will be up for Best Film, Director, Actor, two Supporting Actors, Adapted Screenplay, and its Ensemble in the top categories.
A few other big players are Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, which received 11 nominations in top categories, Little Women, making a big splash with 9 nominations, and Marriage Story, which had 8 nominations.
A couple of films that were a letdown were Bombshell and The Farewell, which both missed out for Best Film (but each earned 4 nominations and 3 nominations, respectively), and Jojo Rabbit, which made the list for Best Film, but only had two other nominations (Adapted Screenplay and Supporting Actress for Scarlett Johansson).
For a few surprise nominations, Joker also had a big day with 7 nominations, including Best Film, Actor, and Adapted Screenplay. Uncut Gems also had a field day with 4 big nominations in Picture, Director, and Actor for Adam Sandler.
