It’s the new year which means new books! There are some fantastic books coming out all throughout this year, but here are some of the ones we’re excited to read in January:

 

Meet Cute by various authors

Meet Cute is a collection of short stories written about the first meeting between two people. It’s also written by some of the best authors in YA fiction right now. It includes stories by Nina LaCour (Writer of Everything Leads to You and We Are Okay), Dhonielle Clayton (writer of Tiny Pretty Things and The Belles), Julie Murphy (writer of Dumplin’ and Puddin’), Sara Shepard (writer of Pretty Little Liars), Kass Morgan (writer of the 100), Nicola Yoon (writer of Everything, Everything), and many, many more! The writers come from a variety of genres, from contemporary and romance, all the way to sci-fi and fantasy. Which means some varied and innovative approaches to meet cutes!

 

Batman: Nightwalker by Marie Lu

The DC Icons series has been publishing YA books featuring popular DC superheroes. We’ve already had
Wonder Woman: Warbringer by Leigh Bardugo, and Batman: Nightwalkeris the second in the series. The book is written by the #1 New York Times Bestselling author of Warcross, who is already pretty well-versed in writing sci-fi.


 

Lullaby by Leila Slimani

Leila Slimani’s novel, Chanson Douce, was published in French in 2016. It became a bestseller and was later awarded the Prix Goncourt. The novel follows a middle-class couple who employ the perfect nanny – only to come home one day to find their child dead. What unfurls is a mystery and thriller that has been compared to the bestselling novel Gone Girl. It’s finally being translated into English!

 

Love, Hate, and Other Filters by Samira Ahmed
