WWE have recently made a play at re-signing the former World Heavyweight Champion, Jeff Hardy, to a new contract after releasing him towards the end of 2021. WON’s Dave Meltzer has confirmed that WWE agents have reached out to Hardy with various offers, including a potential induction into this year’s Hall of Fame class.

It has been noted that Hardy has turned down these offers, requesting that WWE also return results from previous drug tests, which he believes he would test negative for recreational substances.

The general belief is that WWE have only reached out to stop Jeff from signing with All Elite Wrestling, where his brother Matt also wrestles. There’s a strong likelihood that should Jeff choose to sign a contract with AEW, then a Hardy Boyz reunion in the Tag division would bring them lots of media attention as well as a tonne of money in merch and PPV buys.

Jeff Hardy was released from WWE back in December, following a display of erratic behaviour at a live event in Texas. WWE offered Jeff a chance to have a paid rehab programme, but he declined. Jeff is still under a no-compete clause until March of this year.
