It's a massacre goddamit.

WWE have once again struck off a few aliases in place of a fresh, new moniker, this time’s victims being NXT’s Kay Lee Ray and Kacy Catanzaro. The two female stars will now respectively go by Alba Fyre (KLR) and Katana Chance (Kacy), both trademarks were filed for on the 12th of April and will likely be used on NXT going forward.

The former NXT UK Women’s Champions change comes as the biggest shock, considering she’s already been established on both NXT brands since debuting in 2017/2019. The Scot has been featured several times in championship competition, the WarGames matches and even as part of the Survivor Series Invasion team, so it’s odd that they’d make this change so late in the day. Kacy, on the other hand, hasn’t quite been as established, so this change wouldn’t damage her in any way. Chance has mostly been seen teaming with Kayden Carter as part of the NXT Women’s Tag division.

These changes come along with the news that Vince and other creative figures have elected to not use any real or ‘indie’ names for previously established wrestlers, which explains the controversial name changes of Gunther, Butch and Ludwig Kaiser. More are set to be on the way following the recent trademark acquisitions, so best stay away from buying any named merch for the foreseeable future.
