As part of this year’s WWE 2K Showcase, players will be put into the shoes of some of John Cena’s greatest opponents from throughout his storied career. In a twist on the usual structure, where gamers would take on the role of the Showcases’ focus-star, this year we will be doing everything in our power to ensure that Cena loses the matches. According to 2K developers, this choice was to not only add some fresh life to the 2K Showcase mode, but also to emphasise Cena’s core value and motto – Never Give Up in the face of challenge and adversity.

2K Games released a full deep dive into this year’s Showcase mode as part of their latest Ringside Report, along with this are some new videos of retro stars, including the likes of: Brock Lesnar, AJ Styles and Triple H, but also a full list of playable matches that will fill out this year’s Showcase.

In total, we will be treated to 14 of Cena’s best matches, spanning back to his initial SmackDown debut in 2002, to his most recent blockbuster match against Roman Reigns for the WWE Unified Championship. The following matches will all be featured as part of the base game, with all wrestlers, arenas and attires then made playable in Exhibition mode upon its completion.
