The Walking Dead Season 7 Trailer Creeps Into Our Minds

As per every year, The Walking Dead cast and crew embark to San Diego Comic Con’s famed Hall H to tease and stoke up our hype glands with a new trailer for the upcoming season in October. After the most divisive season finale of any TV show since The Sopranos ended its run, The Walking Dead has a LOT to live up to and answer for this upcoming season.

Naturally the trailer isn’t giving away who Negan killed, but does give us some other tasty titbits to get our teeth sunk in to. We finally get a glance into the Saviour’s compound proper and see how the dynamics of their group work. The image of seeing Negan walking through like a biker Jesus as his disciples bend to one knee is particularly striking. The voiceover also suggests that the show’s newest and maddest villain is looking like he’s going to be the toughest foe yet for Rick Grimes and co. (The Governor is going to have nothing on Negan and his trusty bat Lucille, it seems).

We also finally get a look in to the Kingdom and a new set of characters, led by another king of his own making, and comic book favourite, Ezekiel (and mercifully his pet tiger Shiva too). He’s taken in Carol and Morgan, but who’s side is he on?

With characters scattered, the dead still proving to be a threat and Jesus showing off his mad knife skills, this upcoming season is shaping up to be quite special. But there’s so many questions to answer too. Like who did Negan Kill? Who headbutted Negan’s bat repeatedly? And how does one acquire a tiger in the zombie apocalypse?

As per, it’s ultimately best summed up by Carol, “I don’t know what the hell’s going on in the most wonderful way!”

We’ll have to wait until October 24th to find out.

Until then, eeny, meeny, miny, moe…
