Unreal Life Brings Haunted Pixel Art to European Release

Time to get lost in Unreal Life’s eerie city.

Unreal Life, a surreal point-and-click mystery game developed by Hako Life and published by Selecta Play, is receiving a European release for Nintendo Switch and PC on December 3rd after previously being released in Japan and the US in 2020.

In Unreal Life, players control a young woman who wakes up with no memories as to how she arrived in a strange, surreal city, and nothing to go on but a single name must journey through this unknown world to recover her lost memories. Along the way, she’ll have a talking streetlight as her companion and use her ability to view the memories of objects she touches to solve puzzles and navigate the world around her.

Based on the above gameplay trailer, Unreal Life is dripping in melancholy beauty and emotive light and music. The point-and-click elements of its puzzle solving will also appeal to gamers of a certain vintage who remember the heyday of similar PC point-and-click games.

There’s also a real tension running under so many moments in the trailer, like a gristly survival horror game might be lurking just under every moment we see. Who knows what other mysteries might be lurking in the dark corners of Unreal Life?

Unreal Life will be released for Nintendo Switch and PC in Europe on December 3rd.
