Star Wars: The Last Jedi Surpasses $80 Million In Home Video Sales

Like it or hate it (and most fans seem to have hated it), there’s no denying that Star Wars: The Last Jedi was a huge financial hit, with a total worldwide gross of $1.332 billion. And it’s also been a big hit on home video too, with The Numbers.com reporting that the film has now earned $80,250,600 from domestic home video sales.

This figure includes $67,777,300 from Blu-ray sales, and an additional $12,473,300 from DVD sales, which equates to a total of over $80 million. Regarding the exact numbers of copies sold, the site stats that the film has currently sold 673,289 on DVD, and 2,906,080 on Blu-ray. This means that The Last Jedi is currently the best-selling Blu-ray of 2018 in the US, and comes in at number thirty on the all time American Blu-ray chart.

It should be noted that when it comes to home video sales figures, The Numbers only reports domestic figures, so the amounts listed would actually be much higher if you were to add in the international sales. The site is also pretty slow when it comes to updating home video data, so for all we know, the domestic figure alone could be even closer to $100 million. Either way, $80 million is still exponentially high for a domestic home video gross, so once fans stop screaming about boycotting Solo (if they ever do), they should take a moment to congratulate The Last Jedi for its incredible milestone.
