Supergroups are a hard thing to get right. You can either celebrate the glory of the individual members and play to their strengths or you can be Metallica & Lou Reed. As much as you tried to shake that out of your memory, it actually happened.
Thank God for Githead then: a post-punk mish mash of influential musicians who haven’t let age round off their rough edges. Malka Spigel, Robin Rimbaud, Colin Newman and Max Franken combine to some effect on this new edition of Single of the Week with ‘Not Coming Down’. Let’s hope they don’t come down from this high standard they’ve set themselves.
