Resident Evil 4 Remake: Full List of Knives

Resident Evil 4 Remake offers a few key changes from the original game, one of them being just how important Leon’s various knives are. In this remake, Leon is able to parry almost any attacks with proper timings and also attack with knives themselves, though they obviously aren’t as strong as many of the main weapons.

All of the knives except for one in Resident Evil 4 will break, and even then you will need to jump through hoops before you can unlock and use that indestructible knife. Some knives in Resident Evil 4 can also be upgraded to deal more damage and last longer, though there are also knives that are close to single-use and will disappear after their durability has been depleted. There are three permanent knives in Resident Evil 4 in total.

Combat Knife
This is Leon’s starting knife and can be upgraded. Permanent but will need repairs.

Kitchen Knife
Common, found in the village sections. Will disappear once used.

Boot Knife
Available in the castle onwards. Will disappear once used.

Fighting Knife
Earned after defeating Krauser. Permanent but will need repairs.

Primal Knife
Earned after destroying all 16 Clockwork Castellans. Can be upgraded to become indestructible by unlocking its exclusive upgrade with the Merchant.
