Capcom have finally lifted the lid on the various editions of Resident Evil 4 you’ll be able to buy when it launches on March 24th 2023 for PC, PS4, PS5 and Xbox Series X & S. The remake will once again see Leon travelling across rural Spain, roundhouse kicking parasite ridden villagers and accusing people of going to bingo all the while.
As Resident Evil 4 is a huge, AAA title from Capcom, there’s a few editions of the game you can choose from at launch, including a standard, deluxe and collector’s edition. Here’s everything you need to know about Resident Evil 4’s various editions and pre-order bonuses.
Resident Evil 4 Pre-Order Bonuses
Pre-ordering the game on any platform, whether standard or physical, will net you the Golden Attaché Case and Handgun Ammo charm, while pre-ordering the deluxe or collector’s edition will also net you the Classic Attaché Case and the Green Herb charm. Also, if you pre-order the game digitally through the PlayStation Store, you’ll be given the Mini Soundtrack for your troubles.
Resident Evil 4 Standard Edition
The standard version of Resident Evil 4 will give you no additional bonuses, unless you pre-order of course. You can pick up the game digitally and physically, depending on which you prefer.
Resident Evil 4 Deluxe Edition
For just a small increase in price, the Deluxe Edition version of Resident Evil 4 includes a lot of additional content in the form of the Extra DLC Pack. This pack includes two additional costumes sets for Leon and Ashley (Casual and Romantic), along with two costumes for Leon specifically that also change the game’s visual filter (Hero and Villain).
On top of costumes, you’ll also be given weapons in the form of the Sentinel Nine pistol and Skull Shaker shotgun, a Treasure Map Expansion that unlocks additional treasures to be found throughout the game, the Sunglasses (Sports) accessory for Leon and the original game’s soundtrack that you’ll be able to swap to.
Resident Evil 4 Collector’s Edition
Digital/Physical: Physical only
If you’ve got the cash to spend on a premium edition of Resident Evil 4, the Collector’s Edition is the one for you. Along with all the contents of the Deluxe Edition, the Collector’s Edition of Resident Evil 4 also includes a Steelbook case, a digital soundtrack, an artbook, a post, a big figure of Leon S. Kennedy and a huge box to put it all in.
