Red Dead Redemption 2 Can Be Played Entirely In First-Person

Red Dead

Previews for Red Dead Redemption 2 are now releasing after certain members of the press were allowed early access to the game (we’re sure you just couldn’t find our email, Rockstar), and some more tidbits about the game have been unveiled.

One of those new nuggets of info is something that might be please those who can’t choose between perspectives: Red Dead Redemption 2 may be played entirely in first-person if you so wish, just to see how especially dirty Arthur’s hands can get after a healthy dose of slaughter.

Just like GTA V (though its first-person perspective was added for its ports to this current console generation), you will be able to flip between first-person and third-person at will in Red Dead Redemption 2. From the Game Informer preview piece:

“You can holster your pistols with a fancy flourish, like a movie cowboy (or RoboCop). And you can choose to see it all in either a traditional third-person view or via the first-person.”

The piece is actually filled with more info on the mechanics from Red Dead Redemption, so give it a read. It’s looking like being a living, breathing open world game where Arthur’s hair can grow as time passes and so much more.

Red Dead Redemption 2 launches on October 26th for PS4 and Xbox One.
