Ever since launch, Psyonix have been working hard to forge brand partnerships that will ensure the longevity of Rocket League. They’ve teamed with movie studios and even other developers, but this might be the biggest one yet: they are partnering with WWE.

In a press release, WWE announced that Rocket League will be advertised for Backlash, Great Balls of Fire, and, most impressively, Summerslam. Rocket League will also be featuring on Xavier Woods’ UpUpDownDown YouTube show for six episodes.

Rocket League has already been popping up during Smackdown Live programming and will be a part of NXT TakeOver Chicago this weekend.

An excerpt from the statement:

“Rocket League will be a presenting partner of two upcoming pay-per-view events including this Sunday’s Backlash®, as well as Great Balls of Fire™ on Sunday, July 9. Rocket League will also be a promotional partner of WWE’s biggest event of the summer, SummerSlam®, on Sunday, August 20. Rocket League creative will air across WWE Network, WWE’s digital and social channels, and on WWE’s flagship TV programs Monday Night Raw®and SmackDown® Live on USA Network. The award-winning game currently boasts a community of more than 31 million players, and through this new partnership, fans at upcoming WWE live events will have the opportunity to experience and play Rocket League at arenas across the U.S.”

If you’ve ever wondered if Jeremy Dunham is a WWE fan, now you know:

“As WWE fans ourselves, we are well aware of WWE’s strong capabilities as a strategic marketing partner. WWE has proven time and again that they know how to execute fantastic integrated programming, and with an audience that has similar interests to our own, it was only natural that we team up to see what we could do together.”

The story of Psyonix from developer on the brink of collapse to what it is now is incredible. They deserve all the good stuff that comes their way.
