Pokémon Scarlet and Violet offer players more customisation options than any other Pokémon games before them, while also being the most accessible in terms of doing basic things and figuring out what to do. What it isn’t clear on, however, is how you can remove your hat.
Early on in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, just before you set off on your journey to catch ’em all, your mother will tell you to go and pick up your hat and bag for your first day as a trainer. It’s never quite clear how you can take it off, but luckily there is a way.
To take your hat off in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, press the left button on the D-pad. This will bring up your outfit customisation screen, where you can change all manner of things about your outfit. Press left or right on the D-pad until you get to the hat section, then press X to remove your hat. Finally, your hair is free.
