For the first time ever, Niantic have let the public choose which Pokémon will feature in February’s Community Day. After a day of in-game voting on February 1st, between Vulpix, Rhyhorn, Machop and Dratini, the winner was chosen.
Community Day Pokémon
On February 22nd, the featured Pokémon will be Rhyhorn. Not only will its shiny be available as expected, but any Rhyhorn evolved into Rhyperior during or in the two hours after Community Day will know the move Rock Wrecker. This will be a brand new attack released in the game, and has the potential to make Rhyperior one of, if not the, strongest Rock types in the game.
Community Day Pokémon Locations
As with all Community Days, Rhyhorn’s spawns will be increased, so you should be seeing a lot of them around wherever you are. Stick close to Pokéstops and Gyms, where clusters of spawns are likely to appear. Lure modules, which attract Pokémon and can be placed on a stop, will run for 3 hours instead of the usual half an hour, so if you see an empty stop and have a spare lure, consider putting it on. Finally, Rhyhorn is a dual Ground/Rock type, which means it will be boosted in Partly Cloudy or Sunny in game weather.
Community Day Start Times
Make sure you remember that if you are in the Northern Hemisphere, which includes most of Europe as well as North and Central America, your Community Day is 11-2pm local time, but if you’re in the Southern Hemisphere, including Africa and Australia, it’s 3-6pm local time.
Community Day Bonuses
The bonus for this event is 3x Catch Stardust, so a basic catch, which is usually 100 Stardust, will now be 300 Stardust. This can be used to power up your Pokémon and give them new moves, so the more you have of it, the better.
Pokémon Go is a free to play mobile game which brings Pokémon into the real world. You can catch them, battle against them alone or with friends, and connect with people all around the world.
Pokémon Go Community Day is a monthly event featuring a special Pokémon. It will have boosted spawns for 3 hours, its shiny will be released and its final evolution will have a special limited move only available on that day.
