Team17 and Ghost Town Games have announced that Overcooked 2’s premium DLC, Surf ‘N’ Turf, will be available for free to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers as a perk for their subscription. The DLC adds a dozen new levels, 3 new chefs and plenty of new gameplay additions, making it a significant piece of content for a game that’s already available via Game Pass.
As you’d expect with the new Surf ‘N’ Turf, the DLC pack adds plenty of tropical content to the game, including new recipes and chefs. Expect to encounter plenty of sandy beaches, tiki torches and plenty of irate customers as you and your friends struggle to keep up with everyone’s orders. You know, standard Overcooked stuff.
Surf ‘N’ Turf being added to Game Pass Ultimate comes after the announcement of Overcooked: All You Can Eat, which is in development for next-gen consoles. This new versions bundles both games together, and offers a significant upgrade with 4K visuals, 60fps support and some original levels to boot. While Game Pass Ultimate Perks in the past have offered consumables and boosters for free-to-play games, similar to the PS4’s PS Plus perks, this is the first time a piece of premium DLC has been offered to subscribers. Hopefully, we’ll see more moves like it from Xbox in the future.
