Nintendo have seemingly taken to dropping big surprise announcements out of nowhere. Last week it was the reveals of Super Mario 3D All-Stars, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury and more besides, while this week, it’s Zelda’s turn. Nintendo are once again teaming with Koei Tecmo to launch Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity on November 20th for the Nintendo Switch. Check out the reveal below.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity will be an official prequel to the story of Breath of the Wild, set 100 years before the events of that game. Here, you’ll control the various Champions of Hyrule, as they attempt to unite and drive back the forces of Calamity Ganon. Unfortunately, Breath of the Wild was pretty clear about how successful that one was, but still. A new Hyrule Warriors game is nothing to sneeze at.

Players will be able to make the most of powerful weapons and magic to take on the evil hordes, along with multiple playable characters to boot. There’s even two player local co-op, allowing players to divide and conquer the various battlefields across Hyrule. If nothing else, it’s a good excuse for me to give Breath of the Wild another try, right?
