New Spider-Man: Far From Home Trailer Contains Major Avengers: Endgame Spoilers

Phase Three comes to a close.

Spider Man Far From Home

The first trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home has been released by Marvel Studios and can be viewed below, although be warned that it contains some heavy spoilers for Avengers: Endgame. So if you haven’t yet seen Endgame, you might want to hold off watching the trailer for now. But don’t take our word for it, because Tom Holland even appears at the start to give a spoiler warning. Keep in mind that the rest of this article will also contain some spoilers.

Spider-Man: Far From Home will see Holland once again return as Peter Parker, who is grieving the loss of his mentor and father figure, Tony Stark. He doesn’t have long to stay in the doldrums, however, because while on a trip to Europe with his classmates, he is recruited by Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) to take down a group of powerful villains known as the Elementals.

The trailer also gives us a look at Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio, who apparently comes from another dimension. As Fury explains, the Decimation caused by Thanos at the end of Infinity War “tore a hole in our dimension”, leading Parker to ask him about the existence of the Multiverse.

Alternate dimensions are nothing new in the MCU, as we’ve already been introduced to the Dark Dimension, the Quantum Realm, and K’un-Lun, but this is the first time the franchise has even acknowledged an alternate Earth. Fans are probably already creating theories about how this will lead to the X-Men and the Fantastic Four being introduced to the MCU, but for now, all we know for certain is that The Snap somehow led to Mysterio finding his way from his own world into Earth-199999.

Oscar winner Marisa Tomei will reprise her role as May Parker in Far From Home, with Zendaya also reappearing as Michelle Jones, and Jacob Batalon as Peter’s best friend, Ned. Other longtime MCU cast members set to appear include Cobie Smulders as former S.H.I.E.L.D. Deputy Director Maria Hill, and Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan, Tony Stark’s former bodyguard. The film is once again directed by Homecoming’s Jon Watts, and will be released by Sony Pictures on July 2, 2019, bringing Phase Three of the MCU to a close.

And yes, before you ask, Mysterio does wear a fishbowl on his head.
