Maid of Sker review

If you’ve been excited to play the first Welsh-made horror game based on Welsh folklore, today might be the day you’ve been waiting for with the release of Maid of Sker on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Developed by Wales Interactive, Maid of Sker follows the strange goings on at the Sker Hotel and is inspired by the novel of the same name, as well as a classic Welsh folk song. You play as a young musician who travels to Sker Hotel to help his love, but not all is as it seems.

Here’s the trailer:

And here’s the synopsis:

“Maid of Sker is a first-person survival horror, set in a remote hotel with a gory and macabre history from British folklore. Brave the nightmares of the Quiet Ones. Do not panic…don’t even breathe!”

We were big fans of Maid of Sker when we played it for our review. We loved the unique setting and the audio design, but the game isn’t without a few flaws, namely its save system and some of its navigation.
