Indie favourites The Maccabees have taken to social media to let their fans know that they have called it a day after 14 years as a band.
The British band, whose latest album, Marks to Prove It, was published in 2015, cited a “a creative peak” and that they are all going on to do different things, but will all stay in music. Refreshingly, no animosity between the band members was cited, instead deciding to part ways as friends.

A sad day for fans of The Maccabees, but they will still have a chance to say goodbye to the quintet. Dates for the farewell shows have not yet been announced.
