John Cena and Kurt Angle are connected in a couple of ways. First off, live crowds have figured out a way to tell them both that they suck to the tune of their entrance music. Also, John Cena’s televised main roster debut came against Kurt Angle, via an open challenge. Oh, and now John Cena will induct Kurt Angle into the WWE Hall of Fame. It’s true, it’s damn true.

WWE are rather fond of historical symmetry when it comes to the Hall of Fame. Stone Cold Steve Austin was inducted in 2009 by his greatest kayfabe adversary – Vince McMahon. Shawn Michaels received his induction two years latter from his former DX stablemate and bag carrier Triple H.

We can say with certainty, then, that the Olympic Hero could not be inducted by just anyone. It’s a conundrum which has likely been vexing WWE since they announced Angle’s planned induction. But who? Angle had a memorable Wrestlemania feud with Brock Lesnar, but unless Vince McMahon wants the entire induction to be a terrifying beast man grinning maliciously into the camera, it’s probably not the way to go.

No, Cena is the right guy. Because, for one night only, Cena must revive his Professor of Thuganomics gimmick and do rap battle with Kurt Angle live on stage. Angle doing the Carlton dance must happen.

Other inductees this year include Diamond Dallas Page, Beth Phoenix and Rick Rude. Any thoughts on who should induct Page? Scott Steiner? Kevin Nash? Sting?

Answers on a postcard, smarks.
