It may be one of the most anticipated new horror games around, but I’ll be damned if I knew what Scorn was actually like before today.
Luckily for me, Ebb have released some gameplay footage for their indie first-person horror and it looks like the Giger influence oozes out of every pore.
The unsettling footage gives us an idea of what Scorn will actually be like – it doesn’t really look like changing the formula all that much, but its tone and style is the big draw here. Its environments look like living, breathing nightmares. It seems to be a world so alive and so dead all at once, and I am here for it.
From the footage, it looks like different creatures react differently to you, so some you can sneak past and some you’ll have to dispatch of with your vile weapons. There’s no respite with cutscenes either as Scorn will present itself and its story entirely within the gameplay.
All being well, Scorn’s first episode, Dasein, will launch next year for PC. They’re currently funding it on Kickstarter.
