It feels like being on the internet for the past five years has meant that you’re always one or two steps away from someone asking “when is GTA 6 coming out?” Fortunately for those people, and anyone else who just happens to be excited for Rockstar’s latest game, the developers themselves have announced that they will be revealing the next instalment of the Grand Theft Auto series next month.
The news was announced on Rockstar’s Twitter/X account by the President of Rockstar Games Sam Houser, who revealed that the GTA 6 announcement would coincide with the studio’s 25th anniversary. In the Tweet thread, Sam Houser states: “We are very excited to let you know that in early December, we will release the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto. We look forward to many more years of sharing these experiences with all of you.”
While Rockstar could drop the first look at GTA 6 at any point in early December, because they often move to the beat of their own drum, it’s worth noting that December also plays host to The Game Awards, one of the biggest gaming shows of the whole year. If Rockstar haven’t dropped the trailer by the time December 7th rolls around, many will likely be expecting to see Rockstar make an appearance during this year’s The Game Awards event.
