Winterfest is Fortnite‘s annual end of year tradition in which players get together to play the game and unlock free rewards. It’s one of the fixtures of the Fortnite calendar, with many seeing it as Epic giving back to the community. However, Winterfest 2023 looks to be a more subdued year than most, which unfortunately comes off the back of Fortnitemares 2023 again being a little disappointing side.
To Epic’s credit, there’s been a lot going on at the start of Chapter 5 – Season 1. We’ve had a brand new map, various new games released within Fortnite, and loads of collaborations still to come. There’s only so many things the team can do, and none of this means that Winterfest 2023 won’t at least offer some fun to players.
If you’re getting in the festive spirit, here’s everything you need to know about Fortnite Winterfest 2023.
Fortnite Winterfest 2023 Start Date
There is currently no confirmed release date for Winterfest 2023. All of the Winterfest content is currently in the game’s files and waiting to be hotfixed in, as Epic’s teams are currently looking at going on their annual break with no major updates expected until 2024.
However, the past four Winterfests have started on dates ranging from December 13th-17th, so it’s not far away. We anticipate it will launch on the weekend of December 13th, 2023, as that’s a Wednesday and 2022’s edition launched on a Wednesday as well, but this is really just speculation. We will update you once we know for sure.
As for when it ends, Winterfest 2023 is currently slated to last for three weeks, so just after the new year.

Where is Crackshot’s Cabin?
Crackshot’s Cabin has become a big tradition in Fortnite for immersing players within the cozy feeling of the festive season while also giving players presents to choose from. Logging on every day and claiming your free gift was always something to look forward to.
Unfortunately, it does not look as if Crackshot’s Cabin will be making a return for Winterfest 2023 and players will instead have to play matches to earn free rewards. It’s a real pity that’s probably caused by Epic working on so many different projects at once, so here’s hoping it makes a return for Winterfest 2024.
Fortnite is free-to-play on PC via the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android.
